The Maternity Blueprint

You can find the information. The difficult bit is working out what it actually means for you.
That's where The Maternity Blueprint comes in. It takes your individual circumstances and brings the practical, financial, workplace and planning side of maternity together in one place. You enter your details once, and your Blueprint helps you work out what applies to you, what you need to do, when you need to do it and what you might need to ask along the way.
This isn't another downloadable checklist telling you what exists. It’s a place to actually do the planning, so you can go from “I know I need to sort this, but where the hell do I start?” to “Right. I actually know what I’m doing now.”
There is information everywhere.
There’s a lot to think about when you’re pregnant.
You find one website about maternity pay, another explaining your employment rights, your employer has a maternity policy, Gov.uk has another page, ACAS has another one, and somewhere along the way you’ve started keeping notes, saving screenshots and opening tabs because you’re scared you’ll forget something important.
WHY THE BLUEPRINT?
WHATS INSIDE
Finally, maternity leave planning that joins the dots
The problem with maternity information isn't that there isn't enough of it. There's bloody loads. The problem is that it's usually presented in separate pieces, leaving you to do the work of joining everything together.
The Blueprint does that around your circumstances.
01
Considers the whole you
The Blueprint gives you space to keep track of appointments, symptoms and your wellbeing. There’s dedicated support for neurodivergence, helping you think about sensory needs, routines, communication, overwhelm and the things that might make maternity leave different for you.
Rather than trying to make sense of maternity pay on its own, look at the bigger financial picture. The Blueprint helps you work through statutory and enhanced maternity pay, take-home income, household finances, benefits and childcare costs, giving you a much clearer idea of what your finances could look like while you’re off.
Enter your due date and your Blueprint creates a personalised timeline, helping you keep track of the important things to think about during pregnancy, before maternity leave, while you're off and as you prepare to return to work.

Childcare and working patterns are much easier to think about when you can look at them together. Compare different working hours and childcare costs to start working out what could realistically work for your family.
There are plenty of situations where you know you need to speak to your employer but have no idea how to word it. The Blueprint gives you personalised templates for all communications and helps generate questions you may not have thought to ask.
Returning to work can feel like something you'll deal with later, until suddenly it's here. The Blueprint helps you think through your return, flexible working, childcare, your working pattern and those conversations with your employer before you're under pressure to make decisions.

Stop staring at a blank email to HR
Prepare for the bit afterwards
And that's just the start...
The Blueprint also includes neurodivergence support, pregnancy and wellbeing tracking, the Real Working Day simulator, Child Benefit and HICBC calculations, Universal Credit guidance, annual leave and bank holiday calculations, legal and employment rights guidance, emergency childcare planning, handover planning, KIT day tracking, downloadable employer letters and templates, private reflections and much more.
Everything is designed to work together, so you're not just collecting information. You're actually building a maternity plan around your life.
You enter your information once.
The Blueprint does the joining up.
This is one of the things I really wanted to get right.
You’re not buying a collection of separate calculators and templates and then being left to work out how they all fit together.
Your information feeds into your plan, so your due date can shape your timeline, your pay details can help you understand your maternity income, and your working pattern and childcare information can help you look at what returning to work might actually mean for your family.
Your HR questions and workplace templates are there when you need them, rather than sitting in a separate document you have to go hunting for.
And because your Blueprint is online, you can use it across devices too. Update it on your laptop and it will sync with your phone via a magic link.
When you’re ready to talk to your employer, you can also download and print your completed Blueprint, giving you everything you’ve worked through in one place to refer to during HR and manager discussions.

Who is The Maternity Blueprint for?
You're pregnant and wondering where the hell to start.
You're trying to work out what maternity leave will actually mean for your finances.
You're worried about your job, your role or what happens when you eventually return.
You're neurodivergent and want space to think about the things that make your experience different. I'm trained as a Train the Trainer in neurodiversity, so this section exists because I know standard maternity advice doesn't account for it.
You're already fairly organised but still have that nagging “Have I forgotten something?” feeling — particularly around pay, annual leave, childcare, flexible working and conversations with your employer.
Basically: if you'd quite like one place for all of this instead of 27 browser tabs, screenshots, emails and notes, you're probably going to like it.
Why did I build it?
Fair question.
I’ve spent more than 25 years working in people-focused roles across HR, L&D, operations and management consulting, including more than ten years in corporate HR. I’ve been involved in conversations about flexible working, return to work, restructures, role changes and workplace policies, so I know there can be a big difference between what a policy says and what it actually feels like when it’s your job, your manager and your return to work.
But I also know what it’s like to be the woman trying to navigate all of this herself.
When I was pregnant with my second son, I was dealing with antenatal depression and receiving treatment for it. I still had to think about work, maternity leave, money, my rights and what was going to happen when I eventually went back.
That experience, combined with everything I’d seen from the employer side, is what led me to build The Maternity Blueprint.
I’m not here to tell you what decisions to make. I just want to make it easier for you to work out what applies to you, what you need to do and when you need to do it.

“But I can find all of this
information for free.”
Yes. You can. And you absolutely should use the official sources.
GOV.UK, ACAS, HMRC, MoneyHelper and your employer’s own policies all have useful information. The Blueprint isn’t trying to replace them, and it isn’t legal advice.
The difference is that those sources give you information. The Blueprint helps you work out what to do with it.
GOV.UK doesn’t know your due date, your salary, your employer’s maternity pay policy, your annual leave, your partner’s income or what your childcare is likely to cost. It certainly isn’t going to look at all of those things together and tell you what you might want to think about next.
That’s the gap I wanted to fill.
Because you shouldn’t have to spend three hours reading employment law to work out what question you need to ask HR, or build your own maternity spreadsheet from six different websites.
You have enough to think about.

You don't need to have everything figured out before you start.
That's kind of the point. You can start with the things you know now, work through the rest as you go and come back to your Blueprint when something changes.
You don't need to remember everything. You don't need to become an expert. And you definitely don't need another maternity leave checklist.
You just need somewhere to put it all together.
Your personalised online Blueprint, with everything you need to work through your maternity planning from pregnancy through to returning to work.
